The Great Kitten Rescue

by Brittany on January 10, 2013

My convictions were right, I AM dating Dr. Dolittle.

Or maybe he’s just a really great person with a huge heart—It’s a tough call.

Yesterday afternoon, Will and I were sitting at a red light on a main Miami road just mindlessly chatting about our days when a teeny tiny black and white kitten ran out from the side of the road UNDERNEATH the car in front of us and INTO the tire. In a matter of milliseconds, Will instinctively put my car into park, jumped out of the driver’s seat, and swept his body underneath this woman’s car.

After about 5 minutes of coaxing the kitten, the light turning green, and many many pissed off Miami drivers whizzing by, Dr. Dolittle finally captured the kitten who apparently belonged to this homeless man (pictured above in the blue). We returned the kitten to her side-of-the road crate, waved goodbye, and drove away in a slight state of spontaneous shock.

Annnnd then I had to explain this story to my aesthetician when I showed up 10 minutes late to my appointment. Just another day in the life ;)

It’s a good thing homemade lattes make everything better.

Omigosh what a sweet story– Will does sound like a very caring guy with a big heart! And I’m sure that homeless man appreciated that more than you know- I heard one time that they are often very protective of their pets because they are the only family they have.

Awwww! Sweet, sweet kittles! I would’ve been sobbing hysterically. I can’t take poor little babies like that possibly getting hurt!

Oh my gosh, that’s adorable!! My boyfriend and I both love animals too, although I’m not sure either of us would’ve known what to do in that situation. Your boyfriend can sure think on his feet! I’m so glad that the cat didn’t get hurt :)
