Blame it on my extended recovery time from the Nike Women’s Marathon back in 2010, but I am NOT the biggest fan of running long distances.
(Flashback to my moment of experiencing death-on-legs. It’s all in the eyes.)
Perhaps one day I’ll wo(man) up and take my leggies out for an extended date with the pavement again, but for the time being I’m completely content with my shorter interval runs. Speed-work improves my overall pace, allows me to take walking breaks, and gets me just as sweaty in a fraction of the time.
If you don’t believe me, you can ask the sprinting king himself.
I whipped up this quick little treadmill workout a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to typing it up this morning. Not to mention that Popcorn wanted to take it out for a test drive in my backyard before I released it to the rest of you.

A bit to think about: Do you prefer running for endurance or speed?
